The lake is the middle - the journey is the goal.

While some at sea level (around 600 meters in altitude) and on the plateau (around 900 meters in altitude) - the sun terrace on the north side of the lake, leisurely hike for 2-3 hours, taking breaks and enjoying the panorama on the Millstätter See benches - many are drawn to it the alpine pastures around the lake (1700-2100 meters above sea level).

Lake Millstatt lies in the center and extends with its elongated shape from Seeboden in the northwest to Döbriach in the southeast. The water-rich, warm and crystal-clear lake is framed by gently rising mountains such as the Millstätter Alpe, the Nockberge biosphere park and the mystical Mirnock mountain and the Goldeck sports mountain, as well as Gmeineck and Böser Nase. This mountain landscape can be explored at any time of the year ...

Toll roads and the mountain railway to the Goldeck save hikers several kilometers of hiking on their way to the top. The Nockmobil also drives to the Lammersdorfer Hütte, Sommereggerhütte, Schwaigerhütte and other starting points. But then we continue on foot, together on the path of love, Sentiero dell'Amore.

Once around the lake on "Via Paradiso" for example. On the Tschiernock, the Goldeck, the Mirnock and over ruby-red gemstones to the garnet gate. Or you can hike even deeper into the Nockberge Biosphere Park, an area where the largest larch and stone pine forests in the Eastern Alps nestle against the slopes of the gentle, grassy mountain tops.

Bikers have the choice between 43 prepared tours and over 1,100 mountain bike and cycle paths. Depending on the route, there are ascents and descents with an altitude difference of 250 to over 2,000 meters. Thus, beginners and freeride freaks can try their hand at many variants and variations of trails.
